This major renovation and extension required extension excavation and underpinning of the existing building, as well as replacement of
termite-infested floors, walls and retaining walls.
A new basement level with garage, spiral staircase and cellar was added in front of the existing building. The ground floor was altered to create new bedrooms, bathroom entry, laundry and kitchen as well as extensive tiled patio and balcony areas.
The upper level benefited from additional living area, balconies and decks as well as a detached potter’s studio in the rear yard. A stunning curved centre spine stair with hardwood treads enclosed by a two-storey glass wall is a wonderful feature of this home.
